Need help for my husband

My husband is a felon and has recently lost his job. He does not want to work from home, does anyone know of any places he can try? We live in Florida.

  • Does the prison he was in have connections with service organizations on the outside? Sorry for your troubles. If he's on parole maybe his po can help.

  • Try the construction field- including concrete, windows and siding, framing, roofing, etc.

  • Call the United Way to start. There are faith based organizations which don't care about his religion but they care to give convicted people a second chance at life. There is factory work, food preparation. It isn't glamorous but it is good honest hard work. If you have to move then consider it because some programs are truly life saving and led by people who have come up the hard way to make something great out of their situations. There is always hope.

  • He needs to get in touch with the unemployment office in your area and see if they have a program for felons. Most do. I know here in Texas its called Project RIO. These programs help felons find gainful employment with companies who are willing to hire them.
