  • we believe in the 13 articles of faith. prophets & the bible as well. the book of revelations says that no more books should be written but it's referring to in the book of revelation. there were prophets of old like moses and people refuse to see that god would provide his people in the latter days with a prophet. these scriptures say otherise about other books and prophets that are in the bible yet every one over looks it, in fact in revelations it says 14:6-7 in short it says that apostle john saw that the gospel would be restored by an angel. which we believe to be the angel moroni. in fulfillment of this gospel the angel moroni and other heavenly visitors brought the gospel of jesus christ to joseph smith. in old testament times the prophets isiah and ezekiel forsaw the book of mormon. ezekiel 37:16-20 of course if you had a book of mormon you would have other testaments that back the bible. poeple can't open their eyes

  • They believe a prophet by the name of Joesph Smith discovered a lost "bible" which contradicts the last verse of the bible that nothing was to be added.
Also they do not believe that JESUS CHRIST is the true Lord and Savior of the world, but that he was a prophet and that all of us are goddesses and gods.

  • My husband is mormon and I have never heard him say anything about gods and goddesses.
I have only heard them talk of GOD and pray to the LORD.

  • Ask your husband what he believes will happen to him when he dies...

  • I am not sure what Mormans believe but I do believe it doesn't matter what your religion is. If you believe it and live your life according to your religion then you are right in the eyes of who ever is in charge in heaven.

  • Well, they really aren't "Christians" per say, however, they aren't much different. Like the Jewish people, Muslims, Islams, Christians, JW's, all worship one God, and it is the same God. (although many argue that point).. it really all boils down to them following the one and same God. Which MOST monotheists do.

  • For me the main reason is they deny the Holy Trinity by believeing the Father and Jesus are separate beings. This basically denies the monotheism taught by the bible and is probably either polytheistic or more likely henotheistic in theology. In the beginning the word "Christian" was assoicated theologically with a belief in a montheistic God (the Holy Trinity). So from that stand-point Mormons are not Christians.

That doesn't mean they're bad people or everything they do is wrong, or they aren't trying to follow Christ's teachings. It's just their theology doesn't match traditional Christian theology. However, these days the word "Christian" has really been generalized to include almost anything these - so it's pretty meaningless in helping understand what someone believes. Basically "Christians' just says someone believes something about Jesus Christ - so in that sense they can be Christian if they want.

  • First of aoll to the first poster.. your incorrect.... it says not to add to the prophecies of this book , meaning the book of revelation. You have to remember the bible wasnt written in all one book but 66 different books/letters :-)
2ndly Mormans believe that Jesus and Satan were spirit brothers here is an excerpt from a website
Jesus and Satan, like the rest of us, were spirit brothers and sons of God before the spirit of Jesus was given a body by Mary in Bethlehem. The Mormon “Book of Moses” presents Satan and Jesus as contending for the privilege of taking a body of flesh in order to become the redeemer, with Jesus winning the contest. [See Joseph Smith, Pearl of Great Price, Book of Moses 4:1-4.]
Mormonism also teaches that Jesus was the physical son of God the Father and Mary, and that there is nothing in His life more than what is attainable by anyone else.
