Our friends are adopting, I need a gift idea.

Any suggestions? The baby will 8 months.

Any age appropriate toy. Maybe one of those foot print makers. What to expect the first year book. Special baby blanket or a hand made one.

Carseat, diapers, pajamas, blankets, stroller, or a new frame for their 1st family photo

A rebozo type baby carrier. It can be tied to any size. The mom and dad can carry the baby and that will help them get closer to the baby. You could get a really beautiful Mexican one that the mom can use as a shawl forever.

Ask what they need. Adopting is so different than having 9 months to prepare for a newborn's arrival. There might be some baby gear items that they really need. Ask.

I'd get a gift card to Target or Babies R Us.

Free babysitting when they need a night out. I'd also ask them what they need. They may already have many of the items and this way you don't duplicate.

Picture frames with "Family" theme, collage type or other. Gift certificate for a family portrait.
1000's of diapers IF you know what size, LOL!

I would ask but it is a "new" friendship and I am pretty sure they would tell me we need nothing out of shyness. They have 2 small children of their own so it's not like they "need" anything as far as baby gear. I just want something like a keepsake. Thanks Ladies.

Perhaps a scrapbook specifically for an adopted child. Much like your usual baby book but with pages that are unique to adoption. My sister-in-law bought one for us when we adopted our son and it was wonderful!

There's a book called "Our Chosen Child" I got it for a friend. It's like a baby book, where they fill things in...But it's specifically for an adopted child.
