How warm do you keep your house?

I have it at 72 degrees and I'm still cold half the time! And it's only in the 50's outside! I think DH would freak if I brought it up to 75 though, he's hot all the time lol.

  • 70. Sometimes I'll bump it up to 72 but usually it's at 70.

  • we have it at 65 most of the time and doesn't usually get below maybe 68, and we don't turn it up unless we get too cold. We usually have the dryer running or oven on or something that helps keep the temp up. Just remember that the higher you set it the more it costs.

  • 78? Thats crazy warm! Ours is usually set in the 65-68 range. If we get chilly we (meaning I) put on a sweater. I live with 2 men and a boy who all run hot blooded.

  • During the day when we're home, we keep the house around 70, and at night, around 66. If we go out for the day, I set the thermostat around 62. No sense in keeping the house warm when no one is home!

  • during the day it stays at 70, when DH gets home he turns it up to 75, then i set it down to 65 when we go to bed. then we have it set to go to 70 about 30 mins before DH wakes up in the morning.

my DH drives me nuts cause he's always warm, yet he is the one who is constantly turning the heat up!

  • We have an infared heater that keeps our house at a toasty 70-71'. Well, the living room, kitchen and downstairs bedroom are around that temp and the bathroom (which is farther from the heater) is at around 68-69'. It's in the high 40's-low 50's here right now so I am thrilled witth how well the heater is keeping the house warm. It's beats the heck out of turning the furnace on!

  • I turn the thermostat down to 60 in the winter during the night and usually to 68 during the day. On very RARE occasions I'll turn it up to 70.
I put plastic on our windows in the winter and we have our electric blankets in the winter too!!

  • 55 at night; 62 during the day. Wear a hat, socks and a sweater if you are cold.
