  • I also have a 9 month old but I have never given her any vitamins. Her doc never suggested it.

  • My dr recommended it when mine started daycare, so i bought the poly vi sol- everything else seemed gummy, and with such few teeth i dont think we want that.

  • None. We do our best to give them a balanced and varied diet.

  • I have NEVER heard of giving an infant a vitamin! He should get everything that he needs from the formula or breastmilk!! My children's ped didnt suggest a vitamin until my son was 3! However she did have me give my DD a 1/2 of a tums every day starting at 2 becuase she refuses to drink milk and even with the other calcium enriched food, she needs a little more calcium

But I would NOT give my infant (especially not at birth!!) a vitamin, I dont understand that at all.

My children did start flouride drops at 9 months though but that was for their teeth

  • I wouldn't give poly -so-vil they are crap...too many artificial sweetners and fillers.I give my LO Baby Plex multi-vitamin drops from the Health food store. My lo loves them and takes it right from the dropper.I have also added Carlson Vit. D drops to boost his immune system some during flu season. Hylands also offers a Vit. C melt away you can give to infants. Also, research Infant Probiotics...it also helps boost the immune system.Hope this helps.

  • I have given my LO Baby Plex multi-vitamin drops since she was 6 months old. I love the Hylands products as well. We also do Echinacea in a liquid dropper from our health food store as well. It helps with immune support, but is not intended for prolonged use. Typically we start that at seasonal changes, and randomly for a week straight. Proper diet also helps! Fresh fruits and veggies hold the most valuable sources of vitamins and nutrients, I have a picker eater now so we supplement! Also, try warm liquids during the colder months, hot cider, warm teas with half warm juices added. Warm months, cold liquids and cold months, warm liquids. My daughter hasnt been sick in over a year since we started all of this. Hope some of it is helpful for you :)
