toddler crafts

2 & 3 yo boys. We're all getting tired of the foam stickers that we do every week lol. going to cut out their hands on foam for turkey deocration and feathers or whatever, but I need new ideas for easy fun crafts with them. Any suggestions? They're not so good at cutting and when we use "cow glue" they use enough for a month in one sitting just fyi

  • Well, when mine were this age they were big time into painting. I got them an easel and set it up in the garage w/a sheet underneath and under supervision it wasn't AS messy as you'd think. Also, this is the age for play-doh... check out familyfun.com for the best kid friendly crafts. ah...memories! : )

  • Here are some of my favorites...
    Paint outside using water
Let Playdough dry and glue magnet on back
Cut out grocery ad and glue....great practice for cutting
Glue colored tissue on baby food jar for candle.
Make sno globe with baby food jar, you have to buy glycerine, I think. Glue snowman to inside of lid.
Glue colored tissue inbetween wax paper, cut into rain drop, frame rain drop with construction paper and hang in window.
Decorate used plastic yogurt containers, small or large.
Put moist paper towel in baby jar, put in bean, close lid. Sprout will appear, watch boys faces glow, and trasplant into your nifty, gorgeous yogurt container.
Look up science projects for kids on google.

  • Mailbox Magazine has a variety of craft/activity books that are developmentally appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers. I've ordered a bunch from there that provide open ended activities, projects and crafts. They just love them and they are reasonably priced. I ordered mine online.
