  • Nut Pudding

This is a recipe that has been in my family a few generations. We always have it at Christmas and Thanksgiving. It is a rich, moist, flavorful cake-like dessert which has it's own sauce to spoon over when serving. It can be eaten as is or the way we prefer with whipped cream or topping.

    1 cup brown sugar
    2 1/2 cups water
    1 tablespoon butter

Boil for ten minutes, pour into greased 8x8" pan

    1 tablespoon butter
    1 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup milk
    1 1/2 cup sifted flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 cup raisins
1 cup chopped nutmeats (pecans are good)

Mix together and drop into cooked syrup. Bake about 30 minutes in 350°F oven.
The cake should be set (pick inserted comes out clean), but the sauce should be of syrup consistency.

  • Chocolate pudding pie. SO easy. Make a box or two of instant chocolate pudding and add Cool Whip when it is set. Spoon into a premade Graham cracker pie crust and top with more Cool Whip. YUMMY!!!! You can also use a Nilla Wafer pie crust.
