  • On my ACTUAL coffee table, I have keep hard covered kids books that are relevant to the time of year. Since we just had elections last night, we have these books on out table:

We the People: The Story of Our Constitution by Lynne Cheney

America : A Patriotic Primer by Lynne Cheney also

Our 50 States: A Family Adventure Across America, by Lynne Cheney

The Our 50 States: A Family Adventure Across America has become a staple on our table. My kids LOVE it.

  • Before the grandkids came we had them on the coffee table. They are put away until they are older. Ours vary. One is an Ansel Adams book, One is a Nat. Geo. book on California and another on Russia., We have one about planets and constellations. Ours are not there(or weren't) just to collect dust. They are great conversation starters..with guests..or with your kids. My boys learned a lot about astronomy as teens..their interest was piqued for the Planets and constellations book.

  • Yes, I have about a dozen or so in varying topics. I rotate them... my faves are the travel, photography, pets, babies... ok too many faves to pick one but you get the idea. I LOVE books and love to read but I donate all my novels and biographies that I buy to the library because I am anti-clutter. So I really like my coffee table books since they are the only kind I really let myself "collect." So many books, so little time...............good question btw! : )

  • I don't want my fine art books out where they could be destroyed, so the only book on our end table is a Bible. THAT will ALWAYS remain out and availabe to my family.

  • Those are some great books, and the fact that your kids love to look at them is even better. Keeping an open mind is a wonderful thing to encourage. what a original idea to keep books out with the events in life to educate your children. Books can always be replace if apple juice spills on  them, that's why the publisher makes more then one copy.  Stay groovy Baby.
