My dd loves to play in her play gym. She is 5 months and rocks to her side to grab toys and is close to rolling over to her belly. I want to keep giving her gym time so she can keep developing this roll over skill. However I am very concerned that she is on her back too much and don't want the flat head thing. Yes, we do tummy time through out the day, but the play gym on her back is what I am talking about. Is it okay for her to lay on her back for 20 minute intervals???

  • if you are worried about a flat head, rub her head in a circular motion, like you are forming it. It really does help.
with that said, it shouldnt be an issue with 20 minutes being on her back. just make sure she has plenty of tummy time, and sitting up time.

  • That's perfectly fine. The only way your child would get a flat head from being on her back is if she was consistantly on her back without relief. Your daughter moves from side to side, moves her head around, and is trying to turn over. That shows that she isn't consistantly on her back and in that she'll not have any issues with flat spots or other complications.
