bluecross insurance - do they pay for circumcision? anyone know?

i heard that some insurance companies dont because its not "medically necessary" or whatever, but im wondering about bluecross, cause that's what i have and hoping it covers it cause i heard it can be pricey. anyone know? i think we have a pretty high level plan

  • I agree with mamaada. We have a high level plan with our ins, and they do not cover it (didn't anyway). It's listed as cosmetic.

    I have Kaiser so they cover a lot and circumcision is an elective procedure but is covered as infant care because even though it is 'cosmetic' it also lessens the chances of certain cancers. So my insurance deff. covers it, and if blue cross is anything like that they will cover it too
