  • My three year old (almost four) still naps. even if he wont sleep... he needs rest. Some days he does sleep and others he simply lays in his bed.. i think all kids to even age 4-5 need some sort of true rest through out the day. their bodies are growing!! :)

  • My kids were both at different ages when they quit taking naps. My son was still putting himself to sleep for a nap at 4 while my 4 year old daughter hasn't had a nap that I've made her take since she was about 3 or so. Of course when she is extra cranky I tell her she needs to go lay down and usually she'll fall asleep but she doesn't have one scheduled. At her preschool she rarely goes to sleep during nap time. She'll usually just lay down and look at a book. She does nap if she didn't sleep good or long enough the night before. She hasn't been much of a sleeper though even when she was a little baby!

  • My boys stopped this summer at 2.5yrs. One was totally fine without the nap and the other not so much but they'll be three in a couple of weeks and only nap if we're in the car or if they're not feeling well.

  • My son at 4, but his naps were shortened at 3 1/2 yrs. Then he napped only from 12:30-2:30 to ensure bedtime. He was just so unmanageable if he didn't get any rest. Now he doesn't get one and is fine. He sleeps at least 12 hrs at night and can handle going without.

  • My 3 yr old NEEDS a nap but fights me tooth & nail on it. So there's a lot of whiny times around here! Sometimes she just falls asleep despite her best efforts not to. lol My 4 yr old does fine without a nap though.
