How do you start a group?

    It's easy to start a group.

    Click on 'Groups' tab.
    On the next page, scroll down and click the 'Create a Group' button located on the right side.
    Choose the category that best describes your group: Personal, Common Ground, or Local.
    Enter your group name.
    Upload your group's picture (optional).
    Describe your group in the Short and Long Description boxes.
    Add tags (keywords) for your group.
    Enter a URL for your group's homepage.
    Click 'Next'.
    The next page will allow you to edit your privacy settings.
    Once you are done choosing your privacy settings, click 'Continue'.

    Congratulations! You have created your own group.

  • It depends what type of Group you want to start. I work for Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trials, Inc. and the way we form troops and leaders is with distributing flyers to the schools, Universities, community centers, libaries and some community grocer stores with our contact information and we usually start getting calls with in one to two days showing interest in becoming a member. We also work with the news media to cover some of our events. The news media is pretty good about spreading the news and almost everyone watches the news, and it does not cost anything.
