One way is to insert yourself into a bible story, and use your imagination to see and hear the details going on around you. This method is called "Ignatian" because it is based on the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius. Here is a link to a good explanation of the method: http://www.anamcara-gippsland.org/?page_id=199
Here's another explanation with a bible story for an example, and the questions to ask yourself afterward: http://www.slowreads.com/RuminationsMeditationIgnatius.htm

Also, here's a link to info about a book that includes a CD of guided meditations (actor Martin Sheen reads the meditations!): http://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Meditations-Living-Life-Fullest/dp/0824519299/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1257516898&sr=1-1
I downloaded the CD to iTunes and listen on my iPod with headphones. My only criticism of this particular CD so far is that sometimes Martin Sheen is speaking too fast.

If you don't want something quite so imaginative as what I've mentioned above, try this website that guides you through meditation on a bible verse with prayer and questions: http://sacredspace.ie/
