  • I feel as though people prove themselves through their actions. I am prejudiced, I know I am. I have become that way over the years from experience with other peoples and cultures. Life goes on.

  • I treat everyone the same, or atleast I try to. I think prejudice people are that way because thats the way they were brought up. I've been called all kinds of names, to my face, by people who later became my friends. Some people just have oppinions of people based on what theyve seen as opposed to their relationship with that person.

  • I am the first anon. I believe in treating all people respectfully despite what my personal prejudices might be. I try to keep my mouth shut. I think that is a good thing.

  • being prejudiced is brought on by ignorance... thinking a certain way about someone based upon a stereotype. if i were prejudiced i'd be prejuiced against most of my family which is comprised of white black mexican native american japanese and philipino. then i wouldn't be able to fellowship at my church since it is very multi-cultural made up of black white mexican native american japanese chinese indians russians etc.

IT is ALSO brought on by EXPERIENCE. If you have NO prejudices, you have not lived life either fully enough or long enough.

  • umm i have life long enough and fully enough. i am an african american woman. i have experienced prejudicedness (sp?) but i choose not to be prejudiced and it is brought on by ignorance and i will also add stupidity. just because you experience it doesn't mean you have to be it. btw - caps weren't necessary.

  • I think prejudiced people tend to be ignorant (not like too stupid to understand but uneducated in the issue), they rarely understand the underlying issues that lead to prejudiced opinions. For example most racial prejudice is actually based on economic class, but people who are racist don't know that because if they did they would have to change their biases.

  • dang! Kristi beat me to it!

we all have prejudices. i only have issues w/ ppl who let those prejudices interfere w/ how they treat others. just b/c many of group A do things one way is not a good enough reason to treat someone of group A badly from the start.
