Breastfeeding & just got my period.....what to expect?

i didn't have the benefit of delayed cycles with any of mine, and i EBF (no bottles at all), it didn't affect my milk supply- though it can. just stay hydrated, and don't sweat it. i would say, they may be irregular but that its likely you'll continue to have your monthly visit from aunt flo.

I don't think my eriod ever affected breastfeeding. With my 3rd it came back one month after I quit bleeding from the pregnancy. Ugh! Like you, it is early when breastfeeding, but other than an annoyance, it didn't affect much. Although I did end up pregnant when my daughter was 5 months old!! I'm due in 3 weeks.

Oh no, pregnant when the baby was only 5 months old. I am holding my sleeping 14 mo grandson right now. He has 4 people that take care of him. I can't imagine a baby too. I'm sure you will do fine. Congratulations!

Periods can be irregular while you are nursing. If your baby gets sick and nurses more you may miss a period and panic thinking you are pregnant.

my periods were less painful when i was nursing than when i wasn't. i have endometriosis (sp?), so nursing helped with that

i didn't notice any difference with nursing or hormones but my cycles were really long at first, so like 50 day apart periods. they got back to 30 days, but have been a couple of days shorter ever since i had my son.
