  • My sister found them at a local catholic gift store. Close to communion time they were 25% off.

  • Dillards has them on clearance right now (75%off). They were a steal- I was tempted to get one and put it up for dd.

  • Does it have to be new? I'm just guessing that if you are willing to buy used, you might find something more affordable on eBay.com or at a consignment store near you (if you have any nearby). Only problem I see with trying to buy one at a consignment store right NOW is that they tend to put first communion dresses out AFTER Christmas, when they start putting out spring clothes.

  • Bridal Shops often carry dresses that are appropriate for a Communion dress. Also, some department stores have a bridal department, even if it isn't a store in your area, if you know your daughters size, you can have it delived and then tailor it to fit.

Here are some very inexpensive dresses from JCPenney (they are all sleeveless so she may need to wear a cover in church):

Make sure you check with your parish about restrictions, some don't allow bare arms, spaghetti straps, etc.

  • JC Penneys and Birlington Coat Factory have some less expensive First Communion dresses.
