Why do people think.....

....if you are in the military then you must be Christian?

Im asking this because of all the posts on here about the Ft. Hood shootings and Muslims. Just because he is Muslim doesnt make it about religion.

  • We don't know enough yet, period.

When more is known, we will have to apply common sense to the situation.

Certain people will refuse to apply common sense, no matter what information is available.

  • It doesn't only apply to the military, some think that you can't be a true American unless you are Christian. They're nothing but fear mongering bigots

  • Except that -

'On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting "Allahu Akbar!" ' which means God is great.

Maybe that is why people think it has something to do with religion.

  • Another good point, Jesse! If he shouted "Hallelujah Jesus", people would also thing religion had something to do with it.  If he shouted "Take that (insert racial slur)" it would be a hate crime.

  • Where's the proof of the words spoken or the "if...then"? The witnesses atested to the words, the "insert racial slur" is from the history of our current political climate.

  • The reason people are talking about his religion is because he shouted out that Allah was Great before he went on his shooting rampage. This is a typical occurance during a terror attack.
