  • It varies by individual & tradition what exactly is included, but Jademom's description is a good one. I would add that some ceremonial magicians & non-religious witches also use a BOS.

  • It's a book that contains magical and religious texts in the religion of Wicca and certain other neopagan witchcraft traditions. Typically, a Book of Shadows contains the core rituals, magical practices, ethics and philosophy of Wicca within it, and more often a list of the witch's personal spells.

  • LOL yeah like charmed but most BOSes don't include descriptions of demons or spells to turn you into a dragon & such things. The first few episodes of Charmed actually included a few minor characters who were only slightly exaggerated versions of modern witches & a some of the real lingo used by modern witches (but with fantasy powers for the most part).
