A fine example of presidential leadership

What’s wrong with this picture? A radical Muslim goes on a shooting spree and kills 13 soldiers. The current President displays insensitivity in his remarks. Our current President heads to Camp David for vacation. Former President Bush actually goes to Fort Hood to support the families. But, let’s not jump to conclusions.

  • Obama is actually running the country. The Ft Hood killings are horrific, but they are not the only thing the President has to deal with.

He's running the country into the ground! And, while I criticize all the unnecessary trips (such as the one to Denver to sign a bill 5 days after it was passed because it was so f-ing urgent that we get this done, today! or the sky will fall on us!!) I think that going to Fort Hood is totally appropriate for a Pres to do. And yeah, he went to Walter Reed. For the first time. (He's been in office 9 mos, what was he waiting for???) What else is he actually DEALING with? Besides that health care monstrosity and his pet causes such as ACORN, the SEIU, MoveOn, Organizing for America?

  • LOL. Like Bush has anything else to do but make "private" visits that his spokeperson distribures emails about.

Obama is actually running the country. The Ft Hood killings are horrific, but they are not the only thing the President has to deal with. Bush has nothing other to do than take a few hour roadtrip and use it as a smear campaign.

And you really don't have a leg to stand on with the whole flying off on a mini-break thing since Bush took more of them than any other president. And this was while we were still actively at war, the economy was in its downslide - but he was away from Washington enough that he was able to deny all that until his last year in office.

  • I thought the exact same thing. My hubby is stationed here at Ft. Hood, so it really hits close to home.

  • Really LOL at the first Anon poster!!! Yes, Obama is to blame for this since he is a non-American muslim.

OMG. And somehow people think that Obama is the reason we are on the receiving end of the world's scorn.

  • Obama has enough to deal with concerning the living. But thanks to Bush for putting in the time and I hope for valiant reasons not a smear campaign...shame on him if that is the GOPs true intentions.

it must be hard having to constantly explain or justify the missteps of your president! obama can take the time to go to camp david, but not zip on down to ft. hood for an hour? isn't he the jet-setting prez? until the attack on ft. hood, what have you heard of president bush? nothing. he's been laying low all this time, giving obama the stage.

why you are not outraged at obama's lack of compassion is beyond me. must be a bird of a feather kind of thing.
