  • I suggest bathing his butt after each bowel movement and putting polysporin/neosporin on it.

  • Id say if it looks bad to you to try to get her in sooner

  • It sounds like an allergic reaction. If she is not eating solids yet it could be something in your milk. Soy, milk, could be anything those are just some of the common ones. If she is eating solids then it could be anything they have eaten in the last 3 days. Good luck.

  • Bathe often and let air dry. Do not use baby wipes with alcohol in them.. Also let baby be bare behind as much as possible. One of mine had a real bad diaper rash once and dr said it was an yeast infection on skin, don't remember what I used on it to cure it though. If rash is making baby cry often due to pain, call and see if you can get an earlier in the week appt.

  • Sounds like a very typical case of yeast, albeit a bit more severe than normal. Yeast is VERY common during and after antibiotic treatment. I would talk to the doc.

If she has already eaten yogurt, give her yogurt twice a day. If she hasn't eaten it, then you can get plain yogurt and put it directly on her bottom. I know it sounds gross but it works. And it feels good because it's cool and calms the pain.

You can also ask the doc about using over the counter lotrimin or miconazole (monistat) on her (externally only, of course). He may also prescribe nystatin, either orally or external cream.

  • How does it look...any better? I heard you can use Prep H and that will take the pain, red, and the rash away fast and it dont hurt at all.

  • hi sis, i have three kids it happen always what you do always check your baby if she/he poop wash with water, use desitin original cream if baby poops a lot cut small blanket by putting between the diaper and bottom of baby, matching the size of diaper . always wash warm water each poop and let it dry.

  • warm wet wash cloth instead of wipes.

a diaper cream that has a high zinc level is best - the higher the zinc the better. and something without scents or other stuff.

don't use baby wash - it burns like crazy. just water is good enough.

try an oatmeal bath - make a sachet with oatmeal and let it hang under the tap. let it sit in the water - wring it out to get the oaty goodness. then bathe her. it works wonders on dry and rashy skin.

use a thick layer of cream, then a really thick layer of vaseline over top. the vaseline will help insulate the cream from urine and washing away too quickly.

    cornstarch works too.
