  • Babies rarely fly free on international flights. You need to contact the specific airline you will travel with. You also need to verify whether or not infants can still fly under a parents passport to international destinations. So many rules have changed in the last few years. You can no longer travel to Mexico with just a birth cert. You(the adult) MUST have a passport.

  • Check the airlines and their regulations. You can buy an extra seat if you want to put baby in a carseat while flying if not you can have baby as a lap baby (free). One thing I would check on immediately would be the need for a passport. I know it use to be just an ID but I think things have changed to where you need a passport for Mexico & Canada travel. With the time of year and the flu season being extra strong this year be very careful with infant air travel. Make sure you breastfeed on the way up and down to help with air pressure and take along and extra set of clothes for both of you in your carry on.
