If you have joint custody nobody pays child support right?

Like one week each or half a week each? My friend thinks that she will still get CS even though her ex will have the kids just as much as her...

  • It depends on income in each household. We have 50/50 custody with DH's ex and neither pay CS bc they both make about the same income-i think we would pay 40 a month but she said why bother so the court agreement said no CS for either parent. If he makes much more than her she might get support-but not much.

  • If the child spends 51% with one parent, the other parent must pay CS. Custody and support are 2 different things but they do go hand in hand

  • It depends on what your income is. There is a formula for calculating the CS. We have my sd half the time yet we still pay over 360.00 a month and pay for school lunches, medical and clothes. So, yes, depending on her income and his she may get it. Unless she makes more than him then she may be paying CS to him.
