Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

My 10 month old daughter has hand, foot and mouth disease. She's been sick since Friday and although her temperature is almost back to normal, she is still miserable. I've been giving her tylenol and lots of TLC but is there anything else I can do? She has sores in the back of her throat and her knees and feet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Trying to distract her, and giving her stuff like cool liquids, jello....that's about the best you can do. It's always terrible when we can't "fix it" immediately for them, isn't it?

  • What about using a dermaplast spray to deaden the pain from the sores on her body. As for the throat, what about letting her suck on a ice cold wash cloth? Ice cream, frozen yogurt?
