when should i be worried that my almost 11 month old wont eat finger foods?

he will eat cheerioes, and teething biscuits, and things like that. but i cant get him to start eating regular food like veggies and fresh fruit, i would love to start him eating one finger food helping a day.

  • i would worry now. he should be using eating utensils to eat now at his age.

  • Is your baby eating any other foods? Jar food? Cereal? Breastfed?

  • Fix him a plate of what you're eating and put it in front of him. Dice things up so they're a good size for him.

  • I can't really tell if you should be worried without more info. Babies that are 11 months old should not be expected to be able to use a spoon and fork and feed themselves. Children should be 2.5-4 to eat with a spoon and fork. Here is a developmental chart.

  • If you read that site, at 1.5-2 a child should be scooping with a spoon and beginning to use a fork.
