Who do I include in list of birth announcements?

I got 37 birth announcements on Shutterfly (I know, random number).
What is the proto call, who get's a birth announcement??

My grandparents,
my dad who lives out of town,
my employer before I had the baby's main office or do they go to each coworker I was close with ??
my employer now,
all my and DH's aunts and uncles or just the ones we talk to??
DH's god parents?- aren't in touch often
my adult cousins that live far away??
my mom's step sister?
DH's dad? even though they are not at all in contact and havent been in years... only 1 BIL talks with him.
My mom's cousins who my Grandmother updated all through pregnancy?
Friends who share her birthday?
Church friends?
Everyone who went to my baby shower/sent a gift?
What about if they already met Ariana, still necessary to send one??

  • I sent birth announcements to everyone on my Christmas card list. It was joyful news that I wanted to share with everyone.

  • just send them out to the people u talk to and have already seen ur baby. and the people who u know will hang on to something like that.grandparents should get one no matter what.just give the church one and they can hang it up,if need be they can make copies.

  • Send them to as many people as you want. An announcement is merely that. An announcement. It DOES NOT obligate the recipient to a gift or anything other than a note of congratulations.

  • I sent them to firends and family, that may not be able to visit the baby, people that you dont see very often, but i think bosses, are a no, unless you were friends with them.

  • You send them to the people you want to know you had the baby. There is no set protocol.
