MAKING MEATLOAF...CAN I COOK MY SLICED RED POTATOES AROUND IT IN SAME PAN?

  • My mom cooks her potatoes in the pan with the meatloaf. But she also uses tomato soup in there as a gravy.

  • I wouldn't. I'd do it with turkey, ham, chicken, etc., but not meatloaf, what with all the grease run-off.

  • I do along with my carrots but I put foil over it to keep them from drying out. The loaf will come out fall-apart moist and not browned so I take the foil off over the top about 15 minutes before it's done.
