Army started asking questions about Hasan last year

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=120313570

"Starting in the spring of 2008, key officials from Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences held a series of meetings and conversations, in part about Maj. Nidal Hasan, the man accused of killing 13 people and wounding dozens of others last week during a shooting spree at Fort Hood. One of the questions they pondered: Was Hasan psychotic?

"Put it this way," says one official familiar with the conversations that took place. "Everybody felt that if you were deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, you would not want Nidal Hasan in your foxhole.""

Why wasn't something done sooner?

  • Thye are just not willing to deal with mental illness. They let him slip through the cracks. They have done that with white soldiers at Fort Bragg too,. Some of them came back from Iraq and went nuts, shooting people, some killing their wives.

  • It's only religion related if a Christian does it. We can offend the hell out of Christians (no pun intended it happens here on a daily basis) but we CANNOT offend a Muslim or call a radical a radical...why is he any different then McVay or the Columbine shooter(s) they were and ARE ALL terrorist. Wrapping a hot steamy pile of dog crap in pretty paper with a bow doesn't make it any less of a hot steamy pile of sh!t!
