  • He promised us that the unemployment rate would not go above 8% if the "stimulus" package passed. Well, it's over 10% now. What he really needs to do is stop penalizing businesses and offer tax breaks to companies who bring the jobs back home. As it is, he is yet again putting more of a tax burden on companies with this health care reform bill. Watch as companies lay even more people off to off set this new higher cost.

  • I think it is first the responsibility of local government to help do that. Also, people need tonot be such worry warts.

Example: Sam has 2 positions he needs filled for his company, but he can't hire anyone, because people are afraid to spend their money, for fear of economic worsening. Sam cannot hire people if there are no customers spending money on his goods. So Sam's business will end up closing, no one is spending money to improve the economy, and we're all fucked.

Local government, if any, should be stepping in to figure out how to get their constituents feeling better about spending money again. I am talking about people who can afford to spend, or make payments. People sitting on their money will improve the economy. Spend money, busineeses thrive, people get jobs, crops bloom, and all is well again.

  • Obama is doing the best he can with what he inherited. He hasn't even been in office 1 full year yet. And though he did make those claims, I don't think even HE knew the depths of disgusting mess Bush left us in. Let's not forget when all this mess started to get bad in the first place.
