How long before they re-po your car for none payment?

We are behind on our car payment. As of Nov. 15th we will be 4 months behind. I can't even make a payment till next month. Anyone know how long before they repo your car?

  • They're probably looking for you now... I was only 2 months behind and I had to surrender it back to them. It was with Chrysler financial.

  • Yep 2 Months and they want you :(

    Ford is talking next week for us......we are 2 behind and another due on the 22nd.

  • Someone should be knocking on your door soon. Have you been keeping the loan company updated? If you let a creditor what is going on, they will work with you.

  • They really don't want your car. They WANT you to make the payment. Please call if you haven't already and talk to somebody. I promise, they are looking for you now. With our loan company we get 3 months.

  • You need to talk to the company you have your loan with. Tons of people are behind on their car loans. You need to see if there's some way they will work with you so you can catch up, or if you give the car back if they will forgive the loan.
    In the future, don't buy a car you have to make payments on. Save for a few months and then buy a used car you can afford outright. The stress of not have to get together the payment every month will more than make up for the fact it may not be exactly what you want.
