My daughter was scratched on her forehead by our cat today. 16 hrs later it seems a 'goose egg' lump is appearing. already saw doc. he said no need for antibiotics - should I go back or wait it out??? he said because scratch is on forehead the swelling looks worse but not to worry...

no signs of redness around the wound. not big enough scratch for stitches. have cleaned scratch as best as possible. lump just seems to be growing. is this normal?

  • how old is your daughter? it could be like an allergic reaction. make sure you keep it clean and pick up some hydrocortisone cream at the drug store this will help if thats what it is from. if not just keep cleaning it and try neosporin

  • all scratches raise, and if your doctor has looked at it already then she should be fine. anything that happens on the head always looks worse and in some cases bleeds more. just keep it clean put some neosporin on it and it will be fine.
