Can you substitute chicken broth for chicken stock?

If not, where can u get chicken stock from? I have a recipe book with a lot that call for stock but our local supermarkets don't seem to carry it.

  • You can substitute it but it won't taste as good. Stock is a rich mixture of chicken and veggies. I buy it from the grocery store- it is called Kitchen Basics. Or you can make your own. Homemade tastes better and a good stock is what can make the difference in a yummy/ bland recipe.

  • I do all the time. I've had to mix and match before when a recipe called for two cups of broth but I only had a cup of broth and a container of stock. It tasted fine.
