Can anybody suggest a good rough schedule for an 18 month old?

My son had a really good schedule when he was younger but over the last few months we have gotten off track. Since each day is different in our house I am mainly concerned with regular meal/nap and bedtimes.

  • At 18 months we were on this schedule:
up at 7 or 7:30 (this sounds early to some people, but we considered ourselves lucky -- she's been an early riser since the beginning, and at 2 1/ 2 we're still lucky to get 7am)... cup of milk when she gets up. Breakfast around 8:30, snack at 10, lunch at 12, nap starts between 12:30 and 1, ends between 2-3, cup of milk after nap, snack at 4, dinner at 6, bath routine starts at 7pm (clean-up, bath, reading, songs), lights out at 8.

  • We wake up between 8 and 9, have breakfast. Around 11:30, noon we have lunch. By 12:30 they are down for nap. Nap is usually over between 2:30 - 3. Snack when they wake up. Dinner is usually around 6pm when daddy gets home. If it is bath night, baths around 7:30 and bed at 8:30.

  • see my daughters schedule was bad as an infant till 12mos when I got her in her bed in her room....Well she is 19mos so I will share what we do....

she wakes around 530A and has yogurt or fruit and milk
The babysitter feed her breakfast at 7A or if at home I feed her at that time too and she gets snacks kinda as she wants them.
Lunch is about 11A but no later than noon then nap time
nap time is typically around noon sometimes a bit later she naps till about 2ish
after we get her brother and sister she has another snack
dinner is usually 5P then she has a snack around 6P then takes her bath and at 7P she goes to bed

Thats what we do and I go to school so early days work for us and she sleeps really well all night.

  • We wake up at 8am and eat breakfast, have a snack at 10:30am, take a nap from 11 am - 1pm, We eat lunch when we wake up, have another snack at 4pm, eat dinner at 6pm, bath at 7:30, and bed at 8pm. Everything used to be an hour earlier but then we moved cross country and he refused to do the 7 -7 routine for some odd reason.

  • Wel my son has been on the same schedule since he was 9 months old. he is now 2.
He wakes up around 8am, then we have breakfast...a snack around 10am then at 1pm lunch, at 3pm he has another snack and then naptime around 3:30pm nap usually ends around 5-5:30pm and then time for dinner around 6pm, snacks at 8pm and then a bath and bed by 9:00. this works awesome for me and i am happy with his schedule because now my 8 month old goes by the same schedule too!
