Normal heartrate for an 8 yr old?

I was laying with my daughter and could feel her heart pounding very hard. I checked to see how fast it was going and it was going 110. She had been laying down for about 30 minutes prior, so it wasn't from exercise or anything. She doesn't have a fever and is acting normally. I don't know what her pulse normally is, but Ive never noticed it pounding like this before. Should I be concerned or is that no big deal?

  • Normal rate for kids is 80-120 when resting. That's coming from an EMS training book. Hope it helps.
