  • My son started pulling himself up at 6 months and immediately started cruising the furniture. He took his first unassisted steps at 9 months, but continued to crawl most of the time. He is now 10 1/2 months and is officially walking more than crawling - although his walk still resembles that of a drunken sailor :)
My daughter started pulling herself up at 8 months, and loved walking holding onto our hands from 9 months on, but she didn't start walking on her own until her 1st birthday.

The one who walked at 9 months literally walked across the room one week after he took his first solo step. The one at 10 months pulled up and cruised furniture at 6 1/2 months, first step at 8 months. The one at 11 months had been cruising furniture for a couple of months, never took a solo step, just took off!

  • 14 months. My DS was pulling up and cruising the couch for a long time. I thought he'd never walk...lol. Then around 12-13 months he started standing on his own, pivoting, & tlking maybe one or two steps before he'd fall. Then one day he just got up & took off running. (Yes, running.) And now he won't stop.
