  • I say when they have their own place. Making out or not . . . hickeys are trashy.

  • I hope your son isn't 12 years old.
I have a 14 year old son and have told him to not come home with one, they are just yucky. I was 17 and did get one, my parents grounded me for 2 weeks, I NEVER came home with one again. Good luck!

  • 12 is too young. I would ground our son for a month if he did, and I would be calling the parents of the girl too.

  • never. I think they are tacky at any age.

But at that age they scream we are slutts... both the giver and the reciever.

  • If the question is "hickeys", then frankly, I think having visible hickeys are tacky at any age, and as teens, they shouldn't be getting them anyplace not visible!

But with the "where has the time gone" and "that little boy I knew" parts of the question, I'm hearing
"WOW - they grow up so fast, they're having girlfriends, having sexual thoughts, making out, etc - what happened to my baby / my little boy /girl?!?!"

I know it's hard (I have 2 teens), but, just like when they started school and we thought "wow - they can't be old enough, they're still just babies", but we knew they were growing up, so we taught them appropriate behavior and how to be safe at school, and sent them off to class, we have to do that with our teens as well. They're going to have crushes and dates, but we need to teach them boundaries, respecting themselves and others, and staying safe.
