how much should a 16 day old baby be eating?

he is a formula fed baby.

  • Formula only, weight has nothing to do with it. Talk to your baby's pedi.

  • Well, he *should* be nursing at the breast as much and as often as he wants. Takes the guesswork out of feeding babies.

  • My son i wana say was drinking about 3oz every 3 hours. They still have tiny tummys.

  • He takes as much as he wants as often as he wants. You feed on demand. If he wants more, give more. If he wants to eat more or less frequently, then do so.

    Ignore anon:22. There's no guesswork to feeding a baby formula. They still get as much as often as they want.

  • my son was born 7lb 11oz & he ate about 2oz of formula every 4 hours, i breastfed too but i dont remember how much/long he ate im thinking around 30 minutes

  • my ds is 17 days and is bf on demand. he gets hungry about every 2 hours from late morning to late evening and then every 4 hours or so early morning to late morning. we're on graveyard schedule. he's gaining just fine. as long as your LO gains and diaper count is good, i don't see why ounces matter
