Why can't...

we use the spell checker on here before posting? Are we so self-centered and anxious to see what people say about our questions we can't take a second to fix our errrors or write proper English?

  • Maybe people just don't care. You know what they mean so its not that big of a deal.

  • There are those that are too lazy to bother, but, sadly, I think there are more who just don't realize that they're spelling words incorrectly. Education isn't the priority it once was and people are actually proud to be stupid these days.

  • OP here. So true!! People do seem to be "proud to be stupid these days." OUCH! I like to ask, "Are you dumb or just stupid?"

  • I truly believe that there are many people who do not see the value of education.

  • Probably for the same reason you don't start your own sentences with CAPITAL LETTERS! Pot...meet kettle.

  • I've seen a few of those "proud to be stupid" people. One claimed to be highly educated but didn't want to be a "poser". If you are highly educated, acting stupid would make you a "poser", wouldn't it?

BTW anon :24, the OP did start her sentences with capital letters.
