Would you buy the soccer coach a gift?

My DD is 3 & played soccer through the YMCa. one of the kids dad coached & we are going to get the team together for pizza & trophies one night. Should I buy him something?

  • That would be entirely up to you. You are certainly under no obligation and coaches don't look down on families for not giving them a gift. They are generally pretty surprised by the gifts that they do get. They do this because it's something they love to do.

  • We go together with a few dollars each & get a gift card.

  • DS has played hockey13 years and we have always gotten a few $ each from all the parents and gotten a gift card to the coaches favorite restaurant or something related to the sport, like one year the coach kept breaking whiteboards so we got him one of those.
