Did the Elohim of the Bible come from another planet and create life here?

The Raelian tradition is unique among UFO groups in that it offers a creation story that ties it to the sacred books of the monotheistic traditions. The core idea is that the ancient Hebrew concept Elohim should have been translated as "those who came from the sky" rather than "God." The Elohim come from another planet and are responsible for the creation of life on this planet.

  • Elohim, according to jewish scholars, is a multiple, signifying MORE than one god. I personally think that the Yahweh figure from the O.T. is the equivelent of a Klingon, having the same bad temper and vicious nature. He was obviously an alien and also obviously didn't have any patience or moral character. The Elohim strikes me as more of a "committee". Certainly earth and mankind seem to have been planned by one--including all the bugs and problems that come with it! The committee seems to have had to keep "tweaking" the designs.
