Who is more pathetic in this situation?

**Did NOT happen to me, but a girl I work with.

A woman goes to a club and meets a guy. He tells her about his career and drops hints about how he makes a lot of money. They exchange numbers and go on a date the next weekend. He then tells her how his wife died of cancer a few years ago and how hard it has been being a single dad to his son. He makes himself sound like a saint. They go on another date and she has sex with him. He has been so kind and seems genuinely interested in her. He seems like the perfect man and she already has feelings for him. He then never returns her calls and she doesn't talk to him again. She finds out through a co-worker he does this kind of thing every weekend. He makes up big eleborate lies (no kid, never married, and broke) to women to have sex with him.
Who is worse off? The man for having to lie to get sex and use women? Or the women for giving it up so easily and trusting a "stranger"?

  • Who is worse off? The guy, for sure. He is the one who has made this lying thing his life. He doesn't respect any woman and sees them as his own personal conquests. He also has no respect for himself either if he doesn't feel bring himself is good enough.
That being said, the woman has her own issues. She sounds naive and too trusting. Hopefully this was a (huge) smack in the face and she will wise up.

  • 2nd date sex is caual sex IMO. He's a slime and she needs a self esteem injection.

  • He's a jerk. She is a sad person. She must be lonely, poor lady. She should think more highly of herself, as anon said.

  • *if he doesn't feel being himself is good enough.

  • I say the guy. He plays on women's emotions. The women should think more, but women are emotional creatures.
He should hope all the women, or even 2, don't find each other and compare notes. He may be in for a rough ride.

  • The Spectrum of "Patheticness":
Most Pathetic= this question..... Pathetic= the guy.... Mildly Pathetic= the woman.

  • I'd say both she has low self esteem and very little self respect and he's just a moron desperately craving sex and saying anything he can to get a woman to sleep with him.

  • I'd say the woman. She was duped! I hope she learned her lesson about giving it up on the second date.
