  • No God wants you to take care of yourself and be healthy take care of your body... being overweight is not healthy and its hard to lose weight so why not ask God to help you have healthy habits and drop down to a healthy weight? PRAY!!! :)

  • No, not at all. I do. I like sticking with the verse that says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." and I feel like I can exercise better, and have more motivation to change bad habits when I use this verse. He's here for us when we are struggling.

  • You're not being vain at all. He wants us to lean on him when we know we can't do it on our own. You're being humble. Admitting you can't do it alone, and you need to.

  • I would say no, unless you are motivated by vanity. I know plenty of people who are at a healthy weight but their PRIMARY concern is their looks. So for health sake no way. For pure vanity yes it would be wrong.

Put another way, would it be wrong to ask God to help you eat more properly to control diabetes or heart disease?
