Is it normal for Me to pump 2-4 ounces of milk at a time within a hr/ 2 hr period?

I was wondering, because I hear some women pump 7-12 ounces at a time. But within a 8 hour period I can get up to 9-12 ounces, very easily. But most of the time 7.

  • 2-4oz is above average, Most will see between .5-2oz in a pump session.

Moms who get more respond really well to pumps and probably overproduce.

You want an oz per hour you are away... so 9-12oz is more than enough for an 8 hour day. Save the extra for the days you don't pump as much.

  • PERFECT. One half to two ounce sper session is normal. More is generally not maintainable...and that's where women get the mistaken idea of haivng a problem.

Pump output indicates NOTHING. Only dipes matter.
