  • I believe our doctor said 4 months was when you could try it.

  • But you should also limit it to 4oz per day

  • We introduced water with the sippy at around ten months. Juice (as an occasional treat) at three years.

  • I didn't really give my kids juice till they were closer to 7 and 8 months, when I gave them sippy cups they had water in them, I wanted them drinking water instead of juice.

  • You can do it anytime you want but I wouldn't until they are much much older.

  • Juice is unnecessary and full of empty calories. It's nearly as bad as giving a child soda, without the caffeine or carbonation. I don't recommend juice.

  • Juice is like giving Pop really, empty calories with almost no nutritional value.
However we do let my son have watered down juice from time to time as a treat. We didn't give juice until he was 10 months old... I do 1 part juice to 3 parts water.
We started juice when we were trying to get him to take a sippy cup because he wouldn't take his milk that way and he wouldn't drink water.

  • My dr gave the okay at 6 months, but we don't do juice except on rare occasions and even then it's cut 50/50 with water.

  • We were told to start it at about 6 months if we wanted to, but to water it (50/50).

  • I started giving my son juice around 7 months or so. I started out only giving 2 oz and then watered down. And I only gave it in a sippy. Never in a bottle. And they say no more than 4 oz of juice a day. My son is almost one and only gets juice once a day or every other. And its watered down. He gets it with a snack.
