  • No, at 8 weeks old it should stay in the house.... Would you play with an 8 week old baby outside?

  • After they get all their first shots. Talk to your Vet.

  • Oh, OK. Thanks. Then, what is the appropriate puppy age to go out and do some activities?

  • They should be current on shots and fully recovered if you have had them spayed/neutered. We have always had outside dogs; the only time our dog comes inside is at night, and it has been that way since she was a few months old. She is also a large breed dog, so having her inside all the time would result in chaos and mayhem ;)

  • Get her up to date on shots and then get her in a puppy kindergarten class so she can get some structured socialization with other dogs and people. I'd hold off on the dog park till she's older, about 6 months or so. Limit outdoor time till she's about 12 weeks, puppies can't regulate their body temperature very well before then.

  • While it is important that puppies get socialization at this age you should wait until the pup is at least 10 weeks old and current on vaccines. Now if it is someone you know well who keeps up with vaccinating their dog there is nothing wrong with them playing together.

  • No. She is going to need all the rounds of her puppy shots before you can take her outside. Even taking her into your front yard can be dangerous. Parvo among other things are highly contagious to puppies, and she is very young, it could be fatal to her.
