Don't make fun of me, I'm old. But what is the first D for in DD (DH) etc.

I'm finally just going to ask. I always thought a DD was a designated driver. I now see it is a daughter. A DH is a husband. But whats the first "D" for? I need a quick course on all these abbreviations-PLEASE!
