What should i do about my 3 1/2 month old spitting up so much?

if you are worried she isn't gaining enough weight because of the spit up, i would talk to your doctor about the possibility of her have acid reflux. your doctor can prescribe medicine that will help. if she is gaining weight without a problem, then I say, just get a bunch of burp clothes and bibs, and let it go! changing formulas and giving her cereal before she's ready can make her unhappy, when usually spitting up is just messy, but isn't a bother to your baby. she will grow out of it soon enough.

i give her 4 oz every 3 hrs

it sounds like u might just have a puker on ur hands. my son was a puker. if u over fed him or burped him too much or put him in the car too soon after eating or tried to lay him down flat after eating.. sure enough he would spit up every time. what i would suggest is to firt make sure the child is gaining wait ok. secondly ask your doctor about the constipation. i know my doctor recommended 1teaspoon of dark karo syrup in the bottle and give it a wait and see approach but sure enough it worked every time. secondly make sure ur not over filling their tummy. alot of times when i thought the crying was hunger i would try everything else first because sometimes the crying is just boredom. also try putting a pillow under the matress in the crib(not under the baby) cuz sometimes a little elevation with a full sleeping tummy with help it digest rather than come up

Has she been diagnosed with reflux? There are medications available for babies with reflux.

On The Doctors yesterday they did a segment about babies spitting up. They showed how it looks like a whole bunch of spit up but honestly it's not as much as we tend to think because it spreads and looks like a lot more than it is. But, if you don't think your baby is gaining weight like she should, the dr should tell you that and yall should work together for some solutions.

My son was a spit upper but he was gaining weight fine. Your best bet is to really talk to the dr, especially about the constipation.

My little guy was gaining weight okay, but he was screaming in pain all the time. It can really burn their esophagus. So they'll suggest meds if babies aren't gaining well or if it seems they are in pain. If she's gaining okay and seems pretty content they will probably just let her grow out of it on her own.
