  • My secret is bananas. I cut them into thirds, put them in a zip-lock, and store them in my freezer. Whenever I make a smoothie or protein shake, I add to my blender three or four pieces of frozen banana, a handful of ice, and protein powder. The frozen banana adds a rich, creamy texture very similar to ice cream--no sugar added!

    Another good variant is frozen banana, ice, frozen berries (raspberries are my favorite), and some berry yogurt.
