    ugg...you must really hate the Catholic church to assume thats what i meant. i believe the entire book of Revelation is a metaphor for the fall of Rome as it was an evil place. it has nothing to do w/ the Roman Catholic Church that was not in power when Revelation was written.

  • While I suppose the whore could be pagan Rome, I think John (the author of Revelation) meant the whore to be Jerusalem who rejected the Messiah.
