I'm trying to be patient but I feel like I'm falling apart physically and emotionally

my now 7 month old son has never slept though the night he's always woke 4-5xs a night even to this day he still does and he fights naps as well. His pedi says he has no health problems and he's ebf. What ccan I do? He wakes every 1.5-2 hrs each night. I keep a routine and have even tried putting him to bed later.

  • My daughter was never a great sleeper as a baby. She didn't sleep through the night until she was 18 months old. Sleeping for long stretches is a developmental thing, mama. It will happen when he's ready.

  • Is he waking up because he is hungry? Have you tried to start him on solids yet or are you waiting? Does he sleep in his own bed?

  • yea he eats solids, he's in his own crib. We used to co sleep till he was about 4 months but even when we co slept he was waking a lot.

  • Some kids feel like they're missing stuff while they're sleeping, especially @ nap times. Cosleeping may help w/ this. Does he have a stuffed animal yet that's a favorite? Try dressing it in an unwashed tee shirt of yours & put it to bed w/ him. The cuddle & smell may help. Feed him right before bed & don't feed him when he wakes up during the night-becomes a routine. Wear him out right before bed w/ lots of physical play. Sorry he's not sleeping mamma, I know, been there. Hold on & make sure you let hubby take over sometimes so you can nap!

  • He might not be warm enough? Our son would wake and not be hungry and if we held him he would go back to sleep. I figured he might not be warm enough so decided to try pj's and a sleep sack, socks on his hands and a hat and now he sleeps 6-8 hrs when he used to wake every 2-3 hrs.

  • Have you tried letting him sleep with you guys? I didn't want that to happen but I wanted sleep more...and it worked. Then when she was 11 months old we let her CIO. Now she's been sleeping through the night ever since.
