  • They really can't get a good look (because of development) until 18 weeks... between 19-20 weeks is the best. I was told no U/S tech worth their salt will give your a gender prediction (because that is what it is) before 18 weeks.

  • i found out when i was 16 weeks, but they told me it was just a prediction and not to plan anything around it until later, but it ended up being right =)

  • I think you have to be at least 14 weeks. But most docs offices won't check for gender until 18-20 weeks. This is my 3rd child and my docs never do it til then. I have my ultrasound to find out the gender of the baby in 2 days(sooooo excited!!) and I'll be 18wks, 6days. Good luck. Just ask your doc when they can do that ultrasound.

  • Especially if baby is a girl it is difficult to see earlier that 19-20 weeks. However, I am a nurse so I had extra access to peek at baby at various points thru-out my pregnancies. With my 14 yr old girl I didn't find out til around 20 weeks that she was a girl. With babies 2, 3, & 4 I found out very, very early that they were all boys. 12 weeks for 2 & 3, then 13 weeks for #4. But w\at that very early stage in pregnancy I was told, 'dont run out and buy blue yet'. We waited until the 20 week mark when it was confirmed that they were all in fact boys.
